Polish Trade Finance Roundtable

On Wednesday 29 November, MERGE and ICC Poland were delighted to host an open and lively discussion between industry leaders around the trends shaping trade and supply chain finance landscape in Poland. Moderated by our own Eleanor Hill the debate featured insights from various local banks, insurance and fintech firms.

Top of mind for many around the table was the challenging macroeconomic environment, marked by high interest rates and inflation, with concerns raised about the potential widening of the trade finance gap – especially for SMEs. Participants discussed how banks, ECAs, trade credit insurers, and fintechs can step up to ensure access to trade and supply chain finance across the spectrum of company sizes and sectors.

Digital transformation was also a focal point, with debate centered on the potential for AI to revolutionise not only the back-office activities within trade and supply chain finance, but potentially the sales journey as well.
